FIRST ALERT: Weekend wash-out, chilly temperatures return
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Rain chances increase Friday ahead of a round of heavy rain for the weekend.
WEEKEND WASHOUT
A cold front will move into the Carolinas on Friday. Temperatures ahead of the front will remain mild with Friday highs in the upper 60s to near 70.
The front will also bring a surge of moisture into the area with showers steadily increasing through the day. The best chance of rain comes late in the day, turning steady into Friday evening.
The front moves offshore Friday night allowing cooler weather to return to the area. At the same time, low pressure starts to develop and will cause rain to redevelop over the region through the weekend. Periods of heavy rain will be possible at times especially Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.
