FIRST ALERT: Mostly cloudy and mild Wednesday with rain to follow by Thursday
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Mostly cloudy skies and mild weather will continue through Wednesday ahead of the next rain maker on the way by Thursday.
WEDNESDAY
Skies will remain mostly cloudy through the day on Wednesday with just a slight chance of a stray shower or two. Despite the clouds, temperatures will climb into the middle to upper 70s in many areas with a few inland spots climbing to 80. The risk of a shower on Wednesday is only 30% and that will primarily be late in the day.

THURSDAY
A cold front will move into the region on Thursday. Ahead of the front, temperatures will again warm into the upper 70s. A surge of moisture will bring about the best chance of rain since Hurricane Ian. Showers and storms will be possible on Thursday with the best chances likely arriving through the first part of the day.

THROUGH THE WEEKEND
The front will push off shore by Thursday night taking the rain off shore with it. Cooler and dryer weather will filter in behind the front and make for a spectacular round of fall weather from Friday through the weekend.
With plenty of sunshine, temperatures on Friday and Saturday will climb into the lower 70s. Temperatures by Sunday will rebound back into the middle 70s as sunny skies continue.
