Horry County government offices, courts to close Friday; MYR to remain open
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - The expected impacts of Tropical Storm Ian is forcing Horry County government offices and courts to close on Friday.
All Horry County parks will be closed starting at 5 p.m. Thursday. All Horry County-sponsored outdoor athletics are canceled from Thursday through Saturday.
On top of those closures, all Horry County Memorial Library branches will be closed on Friday due to the storm.
Meanwhile, the Myrtle Beach International Airport will remain open; however, airlines will start canceling flights.
American Airlines has already canceled several flights for Friday and made other modifications.
Anyone traveling is encouraged to check with their carrier as other changes could happen.
According to FlightAware, 3,500 flights have been canceled due to Hurricane Ian. The bulk of the cancellations come from airports in Florida.
The airport itself will stay open and staffed.
